Writing Prompts for This & Last Week

Written By: Jess - Sep• 30•14

Two for one this week.

Last Week’s Writing Prompt:

He hadn’t meant to scare the child

My 100 Words:

He slide the blade methodically through transparent skin. The ritual required serenity, peace, and careful planning. Now he’d have to deal with the yammering spirit while he proceeded with the spell.

In all honesty he hadn’t meant to scare the child. The goal had been a quick kill, one that the boy shouldn’t have even noticed. But now that was botched, he’d have to deal with the consequences.

He whipped the blade on a clean cloth while the blood ran fresh from the body. The spirit was already forming in front of him.

“Why’d you do it?” a whisper echoed.

Eh. And this weeks:

He didn’t understand what he’d done to her, but he would by the time she was finished . . .

My 100 Words:

Snip, snip, snip.

The blades cut through the paper with supple ease as she cut around the lines of the two of them. Kloe traced the back of it with the glue stick and pressed the edges gently to the paper.

At the top of the page in big, bold letters were the words “First Date!!!!” and surrounding that was glitter. Lots and lots of glitter.

She didn’t do this. She wasn’t especially “girly” and never had been. But he didn’t understand what he’d done to her, but he would by the time she was finished.

Snip, glitter, glue, hearts.

I love two-fers. I’ll be having a bunch of those in the coming weeks. The one about scaring the child is kinda creepy. And the girly glitter one made me smile. She’s gonna show him. :)

It was an interesting combination for a two-fer. The first was creepy but the second was overly sparkly to counter it. They were both fun reads.
