I’ve joined in with a bunch of other women over on the iWriteNetwork’s Facebook group to participate in a writing prompt every Wednesday. Yeah! I’m excited about this because it means that I’ll have to post something every week. The goal is to take the prompt and write a 100 word story around it. I can do that.

Today’s:

“You are on a crowded subway platform when you see a familiar face …”

My 100 words:

The light flickered above Kiley in the dark, grimy tunnel as another train passed by that wasn’t hers. She sighed and stood on her toes in hopes of seeing another one coming. Instead she saw a familiar face watching her. She spun around and tried to push through the crowd, but no one budged.

“I’m so sorry,” a voice said behind her.

A scream caught in her throat as she faced him again.

He stared at the long jagged scar along her jaw. “I’m so sorry I did that to you,” he whispered before slipping back into the faceless mass.

Thanks! My mom always said I was her ‘morbid’ child. I imagine she’ll say something similar to this. It was fun to write. :)

  2. Very creepy. I want to know the story behind that mask and scar too.

  3. Jaclyn says:

Eep! That’s scary! And awesome at the same time!
